Empowering patients, arming them with all the information they need to make more informed decisions about their dental treatment options, is at the core of our practice. Led by our founders, Dr. Hammad Afif and Dr. Angelo Poulos, Parkview Dental specialises in oral surgery along with cosmetic and general dentistry.
Dr. Emilie Vo
Dr. Emilie Vo’s passion for dentistry began at a young age and has fueled her commitment to improving patients’ lives through exceptional care. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2015, graduating at the top of her class, and successfully completed her National Dental Examination Board Certification and licensing in Canada. Dr. Vo also serves as a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry.
Known for her friendly demeanor and gentle touch, Dr. Vo takes the time to communicate clearly and compassionately with her patients. She specializes in easing dental anxiety and delivering personalized care that prioritizes patient comfort. Dr. Vo particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry, helping patients regain confidence with treatments such as Invisalign, veneers, white fillings, whitening, and Botox therapy for bruxism and TMJ disorders.
She is an active member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Ontario Dental Association.
Dr. Jessica Sze Wan Chau
Originally from Hong Kong and raised across Scotland and Ontario, Dr. Chau brings a rich multicultural background to Parkview Dental. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Queen’s University before completing her dental degree at the University of Western Ontario in 2018.
Passionate about global health, Dr. Chau has volunteered on mission trips to underserved communities in Paraguay and Guatemala. She’s also a devoted foodie and enjoys spending quality time with her two cats. Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, Dr. Chau warmly welcomes patients from diverse backgrounds.
Known for her gentle touch and attentive care, Dr. Chau prioritizes patient comfort and concerns, striving to deliver high-quality dentistry in a safe, supportive environment. She values the trust and rapport she builds with her patients, making each visit a positive experience.
Dr. Shafak Joyia
Born and raised in Toronto, Dr. Shafak Joyia earned her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto before completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery with Distinction at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.
Dr. Joyia is committed to creating a compassionate, welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their treatment. She takes pride in delivering high-quality, comprehensive dental care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Joyia enjoys traveling, staying active, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Dr. Sindy Ha
Born in Korea and raised in Richmond Hill, ON, Dr. Sindy Ha’s early experience with braces inspired her lifelong passion for dentistry and the transformative power of a confident smile. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Western University in London, ON, and has been dedicated to providing comprehensive, long-term dental care ever since.
Committed to community service, Dr. Ha has volunteered to provide free dental care to underserved populations abroad, reinforcing her belief in the importance of early preventative intervention and helping patients preserve their natural teeth for life.
Known for her soft-spoken, thorough, and detail-oriented approach, Dr. Ha takes the time to listen and tailor treatments to each patient’s unique needs. She offers a full range of general dentistry services—from routine preventive care to complex procedures including veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures, and wisdom teeth extraction. Her caring, motherly nature makes her a trusted provider for patients of all ages.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Ha enjoys yoga, meditation, and exploring new restaurants as a passionate foodie. She welcomes new patients seeking a compassionate dental home and believes it’s never too late to restore good oral health.
Natalia Vasquez-Alarcon
Natalia is a Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated with honours from the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene. She brings both skill and warmth to her role and is dedicated to delivering patient-cantered preventive care with a strong emphasis on education, comfort, communication, and individualized treatment. Her approach focuses on creating a calm, welcoming environment where patients feel genuinely cared for and heard. Natalia values respect and integrity as key elements in building patient trust and confidence.
Born in Vancouver and fluent in both English and Spanish, she draws from her Colombian heritage to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds. Inspired by her father’s career in dentistry, she developed a passion for oral health at a young age and now takes pride in helping others feel confident in their smiles. Outside of the dental setting, she enjoys traveling, dancing, and sketching.
Angel Almonte
Angel graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Dental Hygiene from George Brown College in June 2024. She is dedicated to providing patient-centred care grounded in evidence-based practices. Whether it’s ensuring comfort, taking extra time with anxious patients, or adjusting to each patient’s personality and needs, her focus is on creating a positive experience. She always puts the patient first while helping them understand the importance of oral health through education. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at home and relaxing.
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, she makes the most of her time off by visiting family.
Carlly Witrak
Carlly Witrak is a Registered Dental Hygienist who understands firsthand what it’s like to feel anxious about visiting the dentist. Her own experiences inspired her to transform that empathy into a passion for helping patients feel comfortable, supported, and confident in their care.
Originally from Sudbury, Carlly moved to Toronto to experience city life but remains a small-town girl at heart who loves the outdoors. In her free time, she enjoys swimming in the summer and downhill skiing in the winter- activities that help her stay active, balanced, and full of positive energy both in and out of the clinic.
Maliheh Salehpour
Maliheh is an overseas-trained dentist who continued her education at the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries Inc. to train as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). With a strong background in dentistry, she brings both technical expertise and a patient-centered approach to every appointment. Maliheh is passionate about helping patients understand their oral health and providing personalized, realistic care and advice that support long-term wellness.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and children. A creative at heart, Maliheh also loves to knit in her spare time - a relaxing hobby that reflects her patience and attention to detail.
