Led by our founders, Dr. Hammad Afif and Dr. Angelo Poulos, Parkview Dental specialises in oral surgery along with cosmetic and general dentistry.
Dr. Emilie Vo
Dr. Emilie Vo is passionate about dentistry. She was drawn to the field at a young age and is eager to improve her patients’ lives through dental care. After obtaining her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2015 and graduating at the top of her class, she completed her National Dental Examination Board Certification and licensing in Canada. Dr. Vo is currently a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry.
She is known for her friendly demeanour and gentle touch. Dr. Vo takes the time to communicate with patients and answer their questions. She is empathetic when treating patients who experience dental anxiety and focuses on personalized care through a warm and friendly approach. She is a skilled dentist and especially enjoys restoring her patient’s confidence in their smile through cosmetic dentistry such as Invisalign, veneers, white fillings, and whitening and offers Botox therapy for bruxism and TMJ disorders.
Dr. Vo is an active member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Ontario Dental Association.
Dr. Jessica Sze Wan Chau
Dr. Chau is originally from Hong Kong, but grew up and received a multicultural education in Scotland and Ontario. She attended Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario where she completed a Bachelor of Science (Life Sciences). Dr. Chau then transferred to pursue her career in dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, graduating in 2018.
She loves travelling and backpacking around the world – “I have been on numerous volunteer mission trips to contribute to the underserved communities in Paraguay and Guatemala.” Dr. Chau is a big foodie and loves spending quality time with her two cats. Dr. Chau is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin!
Dr. Chau places high emphasis on patient care with her gentle touch and special attention to patient concerns. She strives to deliver high-quality dental work in a safe and comfortable environment for all her patients – “It is of utmost importance to ensure my patients receive the best dental care during their visit. I also take pride in the rapport and trust I build with my patients that they truly enjoy their dental visits.”
Dr. Shafak Joyia
Born and raised in Toronto, Dr. Shafak Joyia earned her Bachelor of Science degree with honours from the University of Toronto before moving to London, where she completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery with Distinction degree at Western University's Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Dr. Joyia strives to provide a compassionate environment for her patients and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of comprehensive dental care.
In her free time, Dr. Joyia enjoys travelling, spending time with her family and friends, and practicing a healthy and active lifestyle.
Dr. Sindy Ha
Dr. Sindy Ha was born in Korea and moved to Canada in her early childhood and was raised in Richmond Hill, ON. Dr. Ha had an early exposure to dentistry through braces and firsthand experienced drastic positive impact of dental work on her smile and self-image. Ever since then, Dr. Ha was always intrigued by dentistry and dreamed about sharing the same positive experience with the others. Dr. Ha completed her Doctoral Degree of Dental Surgery at Western University in London, ON. Starting in school, Dr. Ha was passionate about establishing comprehensive, long term dental care for the community. She served numerous free dental services abroad to help underserved communities with limited dental access. Through this experience, Dr. Ha realized the importance of early preventative intervention and focuses on helping the patient to keep their own teeth for as long as possible.
Dr. Ha is soft spoken, thorough and detail oriented, spending as much time as the patient needs to discuss their options. Dr. Ha listens to the patient’s concern and tailors to individual needs. Dr. Ha provides general dentistry from simple preventative work to more complex cases which include but not limited to veneers, crowns, bridges, dentures, and wisdom teeth extraction. Dr. Ha’s motherly and caring character attracts patients of all age from children to the seniors. In her leisure time, Dr. Ha enjoys yoga and meditation as well as exploring new restaurants as she is a huge foodie. Dr. Ha believes that it is never too late to get back into a good state of oral health and always welcomes new patients who are looking for a new dental home.
